Shoulder screws are used within punch and die construction. They are otherwise known as shoulder bolts, stripper bolts or set screws. Shoulder screws can be defined as screws with an unthreaded shoulder which is larger in diameter than the threads.
Shoulder screws are well suited for rotation or sliding applications, including pulley shafts, in punch or die works such as in order to limit the diesprings in the stamp housing or the mould, or for use as bearing pins. Shoulder screws can also be used as axels and pivot points.
