The client:
Our client is an international polymer & chemical distributor, established in 1986. The business now exports to over 60 countries, on 4 continents, mainly in Africa, Middle East, Indian Sub-Continent, South East Asia, Europe and America. As a Polyolefin and thermoplastic distributor, our client offers their customers a wide range of polymers for applications, such as blown film, cast & polypropylene extrusion.
The role:
Due to business growth, there is an emerging requirement for a Technical Service Engineer to provide support and customer service across Egypt and North Africa. The position requires the candidate to be technically competent but with a commercial focus and will be focussed on the promotion of Metallocene PE to our existing and potential customers in order to increase market share.
· With a preference for an extrusion profile (blown & cast film) candidates will assist in the promotion of metallocene based polyolefins by demonstrating added value performance and new application development.
· To provide customers with technical assistance in analyzing their products and quality needs.
· Customer visits and support: responsible for conducting trials on the processing and packaging lines to demonstrate the products value.
· Support in customer problem solving; providing advice and on-site test runs of new materials/applications.
· New application development which will help in promoting Metallocene PE and increase the market share.
· Guide the sales team to demonstrate value in use to improve the margins & market share.
· Attend customer’s complaint / technical claims.
· Close cooperation with the local sales organisation.
To support sales staff in the Technical aspects of the relationship with the customers.
Profile requirements:
· Degree educated in polymer or plastic engineering
· Minimum 5 years work experience providing technical support to the plastics processing industry
· ‘Hands on’ experience within a blown or cast film extrusion environment
· Proven technical experience
· Self-disciplined and motivated
· Good communication skills both written and orally
· Good organisational and time management skills
· Confident in decision making and implementing actions
Additional requirements:
· Full clean driving license.
· Fluent in Arabic and English
